You're undoubtedly right. There are lots of layers to the problem. But the UK has violent TV shows too. Not least because most of the violent American shows (and all of the violent movies) are also available in the UK.

The UK has problems with violence too. Knife crime is a serious problem. It's just that there's no such thing as a semi-automatic knife.
